We were introduced by mutual friends on a cold and snowy Valentine's Day 2003 at Gaebel's, a bar on the Rutgers campus in downtown New Brunswick, NJ. We were supposed to have our first date that weekend, but a snow storm cancelled our plans when Dan needed to return early to Georgia. We finally had our first date three months later while Dan was home on leave, and we continued our long-distance relationship through Dan's permanent return home to New Jersey. We were engaged on Christmas Eve 2006 while we played our favorite Wheel of Fortune slots at the Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ.
