How Adam proposed...
Adam and I are both WaterFire voluteers and spend almost every weekend working down at the fires during waterfire season so really the last place I expected to be proposed to was at WaterFire! It was a Saturday night, a waterfire night, but this time we weren’t volunteering (we decided to gives ourselves a little break) instead we were having a “date” night having dinner at the Cheesecake factory and going to see a movie later on that night. Well Adam had been acting a little funny, going to the bathroom very often (I thought it might be something he ate) but I really didn’t think much of it! After dinner, he asked if we could go for a walk outside before the movie started and of course my response was “Adam, I really don’t want to go near WaterFire tonight-can we just take a break tonight, please??”. He ensured me we weren’t going to go near the fires and that he just wanted to take a walk outside. Well we crossed the street to where the waterplace park basin is and of course I began to complain again that I didn’t want to be there… Then as we walked toward the basin, he said “Hey look over there” and there it was a HUGE sign that said “Suzy Alba Will You Marry Me?”. At that point I wasn’t sure who Suzy Alba was or who might be holding that sign. All I saw was a a big blur with Fires burning bright in back. Then Adam got down on one knee and proposed to me.. of course in typical Suzy Fashion I forgot to say yes, I was too stunned and excited. The best part was he had been planning this for weeks, calling all of the people closest to us to be there to hold the sign. He had been mapping out where everyone would be and how the timing would happen as if this were a halftime show at a football game...It was an experience I will never forget… and of course since we happened to be at WaterFire, we decided not to see the movie that night but instead to enjoy WaterFire as “Spectators” for once and share the good news with all of our WaterFire friends....
